Print the checker-profile reference

One concise sheet for interpreting a group.

One-group reference

Scope: one group of 3–5 cards. Up to two deck identities. C clubs, D diamonds, H hearts, S spades. 7C means 7C@1; 7C@2 is a different physical card. PJ1 and PJ2 are unique printed Jokers.

Run

Same suit, consecutive distinct ranks. Ace can be low or high; never wrap K–A–2. A designated wild rank may be used naturally as its printed face.

Set

Three or four cards of the same rank, all different suits. Two copies of the same suit do not make a set.

Our substitution minimum

At least two cards must be used naturally when any Joker substitutes. This teaching choice is not universal. A printed Joker always substitutes.

Examples: 4H 5H 6H is pure. 4H 6H PJ1 substitutes PJ1 as 5H. 7C 7D 7H is a natural set. KH AH 2H is invalid.
